The history of the Church and Christianity in India is unique in many ways because it absorbed many local traditions and cultures. When the community of Christians emerged in the Portuguese territories of India; an interesting form of art and architecture for the purpose of worship; came into being. CSMVS has a small but significant number of exhibits that showcase this unique story in the history of Indian Art; that came to be called Indo- Portuguese Christian Art. This will be the first time that these images will be placed on public view at the CSMVS and their rich history will be shared. This exhibition is the third exhibition under the Art Unseen Series; which highlights exhibits from the CSMVS Collection that have never before been displayed.
