Auditorium, Visitors Centre, CSMVS, Mumbai
The Burrell Museum in Glasgow is one of the world's leading collections of fine and decorative arts from 4000 years of civilisation. Built in 1983, it houses the private collection of the Scottish industrialist Sir William Burrell (1861-1958). John McAslan + Partners is taking forward ambitious plans for the transformation of The Burrell and redisplay of its famous collections, with completion set for 2020. The project will see this Category A listed building, designed by the architect academic Barry Gasson, given its first major refurbishment since opening to widespread acclaim over 30 years.
John McAslan CBE is the architect leading the Museum's restoration, and will be presenting his plans for the project.
