‘Colours Of Veena: A Palette Of Music And Visuals'
A presentation by Narayan Mani, Veena maestro and music composer
The 2nd Freddie Mehta Memorial Programme
Organized in collaboration with the Museum Society of Mumbai
At Auditorium, Visitors Centre, CSMVS
About the concept:
Veena, the age old instrument is synonymous with the goddess Saraswati. The mother of all string instruments, its unique feature is its ability to present all three octaves. It is no wonder then that this instrument inspired artists who attempted to evoke the Ragas through the colours of their palette. As we would step into the contents and colours of Ragamala paintings, we would hear the strings of the Veena interpret these visuals.
