International Museum Day 18th May 2019
We are back with a whole new and exciting International Museum Day programme. This day is an occasion to raise awareness on how important museums are in the development of society. This year along with fun activities at the Museum, the Children’s Museum venues - amphitheatre, our 95-year old Baobab, the open activity plaza and the multipurpose hall will all be buzzing with programmes, activities and games that both children and families can enjoy together.
At the Museum, you can pick between a 'Jewels Tour' of the CSMVS masterpieces or a 'Conserving the Collection' tour on conservation of objects or both! Art, games, storytelling, performances - you name and we have it for you at the Children's Museum. There's even an open mic for you to showcase your talent! And Aliya Babi a.k.a. 'Dinsoaur Princess' will be here with a range of dino-fossils for you to get up close and personal with!
This year's highlight however will be our ‘Night at the Children’s Museum’ feature! Elvira Castelino is here with masks to tell some Spooky Tales while there will be Music in the Air at the amphitheatre. At the night ends with a classic turned animation film - Goopi Gawaiya Bagha Bajaiya!
The Museum will allow free entry to children below 12 years on the day. Visitors will be offered art activities, tours, trails and storytelling.
