Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (CSMVS) and Citi India launched the first-of-its-kind exhibition, ‘Conserving the Collection - The caring path for 5000 years of our Art’. This exhibition also included the release of the publication with the same name. This exhibition has taken place under the aegis of ConservArte: Citi-CSMVS Art Conservation Project (2015–18) in partnership with Citi India, which aims towards the conservation, restoration and preservation of 150 important and iconic objects, primarily from the CSMVS collection. This exhibition and the publication are a way of sharing the conservation efforts with the rest of the world. This is a profusely illustrated book featuring 55 iconic and rare objects, many of them printed for the first time ever, spanning 5000 years of history. This book is divided into ten chapters, with each chapter focusing on objects of certain materials belonging to a specific period in time. The narrative provides glimpses of the conservation process and focuses on the principles that guide art conservation.
