Friday, September 15, 2017, 06:15pm
Hits : 2583

A presentation by Narayan Mani, Veena maestro and music composer

The 2nd Freddie Mehta Memorial Programme

Organized in collaboration with the Museum Society of Mumbai

At Auditorium, Visitors Centre, CSMVS

About the concept:

Veena, the age old instrument is synonymous with the goddess Saraswati. The mother of all string instruments, its unique feature is its ability to present all three octaves. It is no wonder then that this instrument inspired artists who attempted to evoke the Ragas through the colours of their palette. As we would step into the contents and colours of Ragamala paintings, we would hear the strings of the Veena interpret these visuals.

About the artiste:

Shri Narayan Mani is an internationally acclaimed innovative Veena player. He has extensively performed in India and various places in Europe, Russia, Sultanate of Oman, Middle East, and Taiwan. Besides his classical concerts, he has also rendered Veena for several mythological and historical serials as well as popular films. Narayan Mani has been bestowed with several gold medals and has been honoured by various dignitaries including the Former Honorable President of India, Shri R. Venkatraman.
